Guides to Actualize Your Potential

Ancient alchemists searching for the secrets of inner transformation used to start by reading one book and let it guide them to the next. Eventually, the mysteries of the Great Work would reveal themselves to the courageous few.

CEOsage is dedicated to the modern alchemist seeking self-transformation. These guides can help you achieve self-actualization, rediscover self-confidence, make meaningful improvements, discover the secrets to higher performance, get to know yourself, and much more.

Below is a sample of resources you'll find on this site. Each self-development guide links to related guides, so simply choose your starting "rabbit hole" and dive in!

About The Guides

You'll find a wide range of free guides on this website. These in-depth guides cover topics relevant to both beginners and advanced practitioners.

Think of each guide as a "mini-book" on core self-actualization topics. You'll discover many guides that cover self-coaching basics such as values, vision, mindset, and personal development planning.

However, the core focus of this website is on deeper developmental topics like Jungian psychology, humanistic psychology, and integrative practices.

Additional reading suggestions are available at the bottom of most guides.

12 Reminders for Your Self-Actualization Journey

While we're each unique, we tend to follow similar developmental patterns shaped by prior conditioning.

For your inner journey, keep the following in mind:

  • Learning, growth, and development is a natural process.
  • Everyone is capable of growth and development.
  • Talent isn't "born." It's cultivated through willful effort.
  • Learning unfolds best through deliberate practice.
  • Setbacks and failures are part of the developmental process (and a sign avoid giving up).
  • The more you get out of your own way (mind chatter), the more fluid self-actualization becomes.
  • Embrace the "plateau." There will be times where it feels like no progress is being made. It's normal.
  • The more attention (energy) you place on your actions, the faster you grow and develop.
  • Focus on what's most important to you instead of direction your attention outward to others.
  • Distracts are not your ally. Consciously seek to reduce and eliminate them.
  • The principle of the Center is sublime.
  • Don't take yourself too seriously. (We're all a bit ridiculous.)

These reminders (percepts) can serve you well on your journey.

How to Get Started With These Guides

I have found that the key to self-development and self-actualization is to focus on your interests.

Or, as Joseph Campbell put it, "Follow your bliss."
